Oliver T. Wang, DPM
With a thirst for knowledge and teaching, Dr. Oliver T. Wang, DPM is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon who brings an extensive amount of experience in foot and ankle trauma from a level 1 trauma center at UCLA/Olive View Medical Center where he has been an attending physician for over 20 years. Through the years, Dr. Wang has had the privilege of training and teaching future foot and ankle surgeons who rotate through the VA West Los Angeles Residency program. Dr. Wang provides care at our offices in Santa Barbara and Ventura.
As a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, Dr. Wang finished his Podiatric medical school education at California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He went on to finish his residency program in San Francisco where he trained at UCSF, San Francisco General Hospital, Oakland Hospital, Kaiser San Francisco and Kaiser Santa Rosa.
Dr. Wang is passionate about Sports Medicine and Biomechanics and believes that foot balance is crucial for successful treatment of foot pain. Therefore he believes in fixing mechanics before considering surgery. However when surgery is necessary he prefers to use less invasive fixation when available such as absorbable pins and screws versus metal counterparts. He also prefers limb preservation and joint sparing procedures rather than fusion procedures. Dr. Wang is a Fellow of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
